Tomato plant swap and recipe sharing
Emil Andersson

Veterinærhøgskolen, Ullevålsveien 72, building 10, room 109
Saturday 18 April, 12–17

If you give me one of your favourite tomato recipes I’ll give you a plant to bring home of one of my favourite tomato varieties! Growing and agriculture are important topics within my work, and among all the vegetables out there, I have an extra interest in tomatoes. For a variety of reasons, but not least because they are my favourite vegetable to both grow and eat. During the opening hours of my studio, I will give out tomato plants so you yourself can grow one of my favourite varieties at home. In return I want you to share one of your favourite tomato-based recipes. It can be something complicated or simple, that doesn’t matter. And if you are up for it (this is optional), I’d be very happy to hear where you found it or how it came about. Afterwards all the recipes will be collected in a small publication. And of course you’ll also get a copy of that once it’s finished.

I hope to see you!

Open studios and workshops for kids
Muralverkstedet

Welcome to the Mural Workshop at Lilleborg! The Mural Workshop was initiated by Irma Salo Jæger and established in 2013. The workshop is a non-profit initiative created to preserve traditional painting techniques. The premises are built to facilitate the use of mural techniques with a separate wall designed for fresco painting. Each year professional artists, architects and students are taught fresco- and mural techniques. The workshop can also be utilized by individual artists for independent studies, or preparations for commissions of art in public space.

On Sunday 19 April we will open the doors and give access to the premises to show work from ongoing artistic explorations. From 12–15 Irma Salo Jæger´s studio will be open to the public and kids aged 8-18 are welcomed to join us in the folllowing activities:

  • Painting with eggs– try tempera!
  • Paint on a wall– try fresco painting!

The teachers speak Norwegian and English but are happy to find ways to communicate with kids speaking any language.

The Anatomy of Fall Out
Carlo Allemano & Astrid Omberg

Lusetjernveien 16 C
(NB. outdoors)
Sunday 19 April, 16–16.35
Duration ca. 35 minutes including a talk with the audience afterwards.

The Anatomy of Fall Out is a collaborative installation and live performance exploring the relationship between personal loss and collective destruction. The installation consists of sculpted hearts connected through a network of paper veins. The work is structured in three parts addressing personal abandonment, separation, and the historical annihilation of Hiroshima.

The piece is activated through a live performance in which the central element of the installation is set on fire, accompanied by original poetry and vocal performance.

By juxtaposing the intimate and the historical, the work frames a reflection on loss, vulnerability, and transformation.

Opening hours: Friday 17 April 16–20, Saturday 18 April 12–16, Sunday 19 April during Oslo Open from 12–17

Norwegian Worldwide Artists (NWA) Artist Group consists of artists with different cultural backgrounds. The group has worked together on projects, discussions and professional exchange since 2007. All the artists are today working in Norway, but they have experience, attachments and histories from countries all over the world. As artists they are working alone, but join hands on common projects. Through the projects they want to show just how a multicultural background can represent strenght and value both personally and for the art. Despite great differences in style, techniques, age and background, together they are creating an entity that no one could have created
alone.

Participating artists:
Irene Christensen from Norway and USA, Wendelmoed van der Veen from The Netherlands with attachment to Sri Lanka living in Norway, Grete Marstein from Norway has over years been working in Slovakia and a number of other countries, Eva Jingsue from China now Norway and Kari Glomsaas from Norway with experiences especially from East Africa and the countries surrounding the Indian Ocean.

The program is initiated and organized by the artists themselves. Contact each organizer for more information about the events.
