I feel close to the material and the craft. In my case, paper. I print on paper, I shape paper and I make paper. There are stories behind everything I do, but my story can be experienced by others as a completely different story. I create a story, and give opportunities to the viewer to fantasize further, “streaming of consciousness”.

Handmade paper, woodcuts, installation (paperworks), paintings

"Entomology", insect, Kari Adora Hauge, handmade paper, 9x10 cm, 2026

"Property shark is hunting on Ullevål property", Kari Adora Hauge, shark made of thin cardboard, Ullevål property is a cutout on paper. The picture is from the exhibition at Salt 2026, where artists who have been involved in the "Save Ullevål" campaign were invited.
"Basilisk", Kari Adora Hauge, built up of thin paper, 10x16x5, 2020. The basilisk is a figure from the installation/story about Lucy Snowe, "The World of Thought", an installation of about 40 small paper figures on a stage.

In my studio

In my studio I will show how I make paper from pulp from used and discarded paper. I will show you how I cut up paper, soak the paper and make a pulp. Then I put the pulp and water in a tub and with a frame with netting I get a thin layer of pulp which I put on a piece of cloth to dry.On the sheets I print with lithography or woodcuts.

Planned projects and exhibitions

I am planning an exhibition at Galleri Sagene Kunstsmie August 17 -September 7 with the title “Art on paper, paper as art”.
An exhibition in collaboration with Gret Marstein.
