Right now I work a lot with participatory film, where I involve local people and create stories together with them based on a specific place and context. I often use semi-fiction and play, for example by setting the story in a cinematic or mythical setting such as western or sci-fi, to make it easier to involve local people and talk about sensitive political/social issues. Research areas include nature and resource use, the relationship between centre and periphery, labour, power and organized resistance, self-organization, food, the cultivated and the wild, the long-term, and the small-scale within the global.
