I am a painter with 16 years of experience and have worked with techniques such as charcoal, egg tempera, fresco, oil and wax painting, as well as wax monotype. Since 2020, I have focused in particular on wax monotype, which has been central to my most recent exhibitions.
My practice is rooted in the painterly tradition and craftsmanship, where historical materials and techniques serve as a point of departure for my own investigations. For me, the materials carry meaning before the motif takes shape, and the images often emerge from the surface itself.
The work is shaped by sketching, material testing, and experimentation. I cast my own wax crayons, assemble Japanese paper into large formats, and engrave aluminum plates for printing. The process is intuitive, where obstacles can lead to new solutions I had not previously imagined.

In my studio
In my studio, visitors can experience one of Oslo’s finest workspaces. The studio is located at Linoljefabrikken, owned by Irma Salo Jæger, and is well worth a visit in its own right.
Here I will present parts of my current practice, including cast wax crayons, monotypes, and paintings, as well as several ongoing projects.
