18—19 April

Malin Sæther Andresen

(She/her)
Address: Oslo Prosjektrom, Schweigaards gate 34a, 0191 Oslo
Floor: 3.
Room number: 354 (deler rom med Jone Skjærpe)
The studio is open Sunday 19 April from 12-17

Malin works with nature and ecofeminism through textile, painting and sculpture. With time-consuming processes she investigates what nature can do to materials she exposes to processes of decay: Like in her bachelor project where three textiles were put in the ocean in the cities Oslo, Bergen and Kristiansund in the same period of time. She has also worked with mushrooms and with making fiber and yarn from nettles. Through working with nature, Malin wants to show the viewer that there is still hope for the planet and what a wonderful world we live in.

Textile, sculpture, painting, artist books

Three textiles hanging from a big metal ring in a room. The installation is big enough for people to walk into it. The metal ring hang around two metres over the ground from rope that's fastened to a point over the ring, outside the photo.

An art book opened on a page with a riso printed photo on the left side. The photo shows something pink, bodily and jelly- like, which in reality is a close up of a colony of cionas. On the right hand page is the word "fruktbarhet" (fertility) printed in pink on white background.

In my studio

In my studio there will be a selection of paintings and textile work related to nature and ecological processes. My artist book “Encounters in Water (decay, cycle, fertility)” will be available for reading and looking through. I might give a demonstration on how to make fiber and yarn from nettles if that is of interest to the visitors.

Planned projects and exhibitions

Will participate at the Smålands triennale 2026 with the group project “art as social transformation”.
