Hildur Hermannsdottir

(She/her)
Address: Hausmannsgate 6, Hausmanns gate 6, 0186 Oslo
Floor: 6
The studio is open Saturday 18 April from 12-17

I am a multimedia artist working with video art, acrylic, and oil painting. My practice is rooted in autobiographical and performative strategies, using my own body and lived experience as primary material. Through self-representation across moving image and painting, I explore identity, emotional states, and the construction of subjectivity. The work is characterized by a bold, colorful, and experimental visual language that shifts between humor, vulnerability, and confrontation. By positioning my life as a framework for artistic inquiry, I create works that operate at the intersection of art, performance, and personal narrative, inviting viewers to engage with intimacy, intensity, and transformation.

Planned projects and exhibitions

My current focus is on developing my oil painting practice, with particular attention to realism and technical precision, which represents a new direction in my work. I am working through a period of material and formal exploration, refining my skills through sustained studio practice and experimentation. This phase is research-driven rather than exhibition-oriented, allowing space for learning, depth, and long-term development. Alongside this, I continue to develop video-based work that engages with self-representation and performative strategies. I view this period as foundational, with the intention of shaping future exhibition projects once the work has matured.
