My artistic practice explores the interaction between the four elements; earth, fire, air, and water, and connections between micro- and macrocosm. I work with more-than-human forces and cosmic, mystical energies through fluid, lithographic automatic drawing. Mixtures of water, alcohol, ink, and salt flow across the stone and evaporate into organic structures. In my master’s project, I explore my roots in Romani Traveller culture through the materiality of lithography, in dialogue with kite building developed in collaboration with kite master Ajaz Ul Haq. I explore how the kite’s perspective can evoke an astronaut-like overview effect shaped by shared vulnerability and responsibility.
