Louise Evensen Herreira
(She/her)
Address: KHiO/ Metall, Fossveien 24, 0551 Oslo
Floor: -1
The studio is open Sunday 19 April from 12-17
Louise Evensen Herreira (b 1993, Stockholm, Sweden) works with metal, sculpture, and installation, often taking the public space as a starting point. Letting the surreal filter reality, she explores how materials, local stories, and human experiences can reflect the time and place we inhabit. Her practice moves between the industrial and the intimate, engaging with found objects and fragments from urban environments to uncover traces of collective memory and transformation.
Evensen Herreira holds a BA from the Oslo Academy of the Arts, where she is currently completing her MFA in Medium- and Material-Based Art.
Metal
In my studio
In my studio, visitors are welcome to encounter a variety of gathered materials shaped into sculptures and other constructions in progress. I invite you into my working nest as a student—an active environment where materials are tested, assembled, and reworked. During Oslo Open, I will be present for informal conversations about process and material experimentation!
While my main studio is located in Økern, I am opening the doors to my workspace at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, where I study metal at the Arts and Crafts deparement. Here, visitors can gain insight into how works are developed within a school context, alongside text-based and performative processes.
